The V-Spot: I've Got Penetration Fears Post-Hysterectomy

I’m a transgender man that has been on hormones for twelve years. I also had a hysterectomy about three years ago, so I no longer have my uterus or ovaries. Since my surgery, I’ve had more discomfort than normal with front hole penetration.
I know muscle atrophy is totally possible and there are lubes and smaller sex toys to work myself up again but, I also have this mental block of fear keeping me from engaging more in the process.
I should add that I love penetration, so I don’t know where this mental block is coming from exactly.

Though I’ve never had a hysterectomy, I have given birth to a baby. Of course, these two things are different but what I can imagine might be similar between these two processes is the amount of medical intervention, possible trauma, physical pain either during the procedure or during recovery, and a healthy dose of skepticism that things will truly “bounce back” or return to some kind of normal afterwards.
Also, the hormonal readjustment period after each of these experiences can be a real rollercoaster in the emotions department. Not only does this affect your body in a physical way but it can also increase fear, anxiety, and worry which, can add fuel to any physically uncomfortable fire.
In your case, when the ovaries are removed, your body stops producing whatever estrogen it may have been producing alongside of the testosterone you’ve been on for twelve years (everyone’s body produces both estrogen and testosterone, it’s just a matter of how much and what physical changes these hormones might produce in our bodies).
