Consent & Cookie Building and Q&A w/Yana: 7-8:30pm

Drop in / drop out. Make a cookie & learn about consent!

Workshop Description: What does good consent actually look like? Somehow, this is a question left out of most consent programs. The consent education most available to students fails to illustrate what good communication looks like in real life: What words do I use? What does that do for my partner? What does that do for me? How do I say no? How do I accept a no gracefully? They say “consent is sexy” but how do I

Stocking up for “Consent Cookie”-building ingredients for a weekend of youth consent workshops

make it so? Many consent programs can manage to leave these questions unanswered.

This casual drop in / drop out workshop will start with a short talk (6:30-7pm) about the central components of consent and how intentional consent strategies can enhance sexual pleasure and relational closeness in our intimate and everyday interactions.

Come for the talk and stay for casual Consent & Cookie building and a Q&A with Yana about sexuality, consent, sex education work, and whatever else is on your mind!

Yana’s signature Consent Cookie activity gives participants fun, hands-on practice with consent strategies to help break down the linguistic, mental & emotional barriers standing in the way of creating a culture of consensual communication on our campuses, in our communities and in our own bedrooms.

This workshop is open to all bodies, genders & identities. Language in this workshop honors the gender & sexuality spectrum rather than the binary and all participants are encouraged to practice self-care in their level of participation & attendance.
